Where is Beta3?
Yes, I know Beta3 is taking too long.
We are making good progress, lots of small stuff has been fixed. But due to a radical redesign of the post-processing code, the TV season code is no longer reliable. Switch will take care of this, but he has other duties to attend to and cannot work on this code right now. He was planning on is now overhauling the current TV season implementation like discussed in the forum.
People who can use the Subversion sources are welcom to test, keeping in mind the non-functional TV season code.
Overview of what has been done after Beta2:
- A load of Plush corrections.
- Preserve case of received newzbin categories, while still keeping the user-based categories forced to lowercase.
- Scan for category-named sub-folders in the Watched Folder.
- Redesign of the post-processing.
- Improved performance on network drives, due to less copying of files.
- Cleaned up code.
- Ignore “group folders” and “category folders” options when user-defined categories available.
- Increase robustness against incorrect RSS feed records (missing fields).
- Allow recovery from bad RSS filters.
- Make sure that Signal 5 is only ignored for Windows (some problems reported on Linux)
- Pause/resume state on startup is determined from the schedule
- Prevent RSS processor from downloading exactly identical titles.
- NZB backups are made for all sources (and compressed to .gz)
- Newzbin Bookmarks now uses Newzbin’s new API
My guess is that Beta3 will be about a week from now.
